<p class="text">Bridges teamed up with Euro RSCG Life and director Ryan Robinson to create two 60-second spots for University of Chicago Medical Center. The spots feature Dr. Valluvan Jeevanandum, Professor of Surgery, and Dr. Konstantin Umanskiy, Assistant Professor of Surgery, along with two patients who were diagnosed with life threatening illnesses. The spots tell the stories of each patient through early symptoms, diagnosis, surgery, and the results of being treated at U of C Medical Center.</p>
<p class="text">Bridges shot on-location at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Andrew Dryer was Director of Photography, and Patrick Lewtschanyn was Camera Operator. The production team used RED Cameras to shoot the spots. &#8221;Shooting on the Red is something we are doing almost exclusively this year, especially in broadcast situations like U of C Medical Center.  We are always striving to experiment with new equipment and make significant use out of the tools that are available that give us the best results. The overall aesthetic, image quality, and freedom the RED grants us in post for color correction makes it tough to want to shoot on anything else,&#8221; said Lewtschanyn.</p>
<p class="text">The post-production was led by Lewtschanyn, the color-correction was completed by Bob Sliga, and the audio was mixed at Vagabond. The Bridges post-production team used Final Cut Pro, After Effects, and Apple Color to complete the spots.</p>

<p>November 9, 2009 —  The Chicago/Midwest chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts &amp; Sciences recently awarded the Bridges-produced <a href="http://bridgesmedia.tv/sunda/">“Journey to Sunda”</a> with a Midwest Emmy this past Saturday in the category of Outstanding Achievement for Entertainment Programs &#8211; Advanced Media Arts/ Entertainment Program or Program Segment.  The award recognizes Chicago entrepreneur and restaurateur Billy Dec for his performance in “Journey to Sunda”.  Dec is also the CEO and founder of Rockit Ranch Productions, which co-produced the piece (with partners Brad Young and Arturo Gomez).</p>
<p><br/></p>
<p>The Bridges team worked with Dec, along with producer and writer Tom Hodges and Bridges associate creative Philip Jones, to develop the script and concept for the two-minute viral piece.  The story details Dec and his Rockit Ranch Productions partners Gomez and Young as they traveled throughout the Japan, China and the Southeast Asian Island region finding inspiration for the yet un-named restaurant while documenting the cuisine and culture of their visits through photography.  On one of many trips Dec discovered the perfect name for Rockit Ranch’s latest restaurant, which was Sunda. This story, combined with the compilation of imagery, resulted in a photo book entitled “Journey to Sunda”, which served as the inspiration for the viral video piece of the same name, produced by Bridges.</p>

<p>“Bridges took the story off the pages and out of our memories and presented it in a totally new life form, one which was easy to communicate to our audience in a fresh, lively way,” says Dec.  “The video felt interactive and was entertaining, which are qualities that we like our restaurant projects to convey as well.”</p>

<p class="text">As Rockit Ranch Productions prepared to open their new Asian concept restaurant, Sunda, they sent CEO and founder Billy Dec around the world in search of the perfect inspiration, food, and most importantly name for the venture.  Dec documented his travels across the exotic Asian locales with photography from each city&#8217;s experience and compiled the imagery into a photo book entitled &#8220;Journey to Sunda&#8221;, which served as the inspiration for the viral video piece of the same name, produced by Bridges.</p>
<p class="text">The Bridges team worked with Dec, along with producer &amp; writer Tom Hodges and Bridges associate creative Philip Jones to develop the script and concept for the two-minute viral piece detailing Dec&#8217;s journey to find the perfect restaurant name.</p>
<p class="text"><em>&#8220;Working with Billy and the Rockit Ranch crew was far too much fun. Their energy levels and creativity are through the roof! It was a truly collaborative experience through the entire process as it touched nearly every one of our team&#8217;s hands. The result is a very energetic piece that shows off many of our capabilities, and drove a lot of buzz to Sunda. This project was the start to a wonderful relationship between our two places,&#8221; said Bridges Chief Creative Officer Christian Robins.</em></p>
<p class="text">In one day of green screen production at the Bridges studio, directed by Jones and shot by DP Shaun Cloud, our team acquired footage of Dec and the Rockit Ranch crew, including partners Brad Young and Arturo Gomez, for the live action portion of the video.</p>
<p class="text">With the keyed footage, the post production team, lead by Robins, composited the photography elements along with 2D and 3D motion graphics to tell the story of &#8220;The Journey to Sunda&#8221;.  The project was produced by Bridges Assistant Producer, Lisa Chung.</p>

<p class="text">When <a href="http://www.CouponCabin.com">CouponCabin.com</a>, a popular cost savings website, wanted to create a series of spots focusing on the website&#8217;s ease of use, quantity of online coupons, and money consumers can save when using the site, they came to Bridges to utilize our full-service capabilities.</p>
<p class="text">Bridges delivered, creating the campaign entitled &#8220;Swivel&#8221;, in which you see the POV of a consumer shopping at several different virtual online stores. Before they check out, they make a quick trip to CouponCabin.com to save a fortune on a variety of different products. Sleek transitions and tangible interaction with the websites visited reflect how quick and easy it is to save money with Coupon Cabin.</p>
<p class="text">&#8220;Bridges was amazing from start to finish. From concept to production to delivery, they were always on the ball and always brought their A game,&#8221; said Scott Kluth, owner of Coupon Cabin.</p>
<p class="text">The campaign was produced by Erin Danneman, directed by Creative Lead Brian McCauley and shot on the Red One Digital Camera by Creative &amp; DP Patrick Lewtschanyn. The post production team, also lead by McCauley, created the series of :30s and :15s that are currently airing nationally.</p>

<p class="text">Bridges recently completed production and post production work on two :30 spots, “Feast” and “Prowl,” for the 2009 USA Today/Cannes Young Lions “Team USA” Competitions.</p>
<p class="text">Conceived by Chicago agency Bagby, each spot features a young creative “lion” learning to “fight for the pride” by joining real lions as they stalk and consume their prey in the wild. Pulsing, heavy metal music underscores the electric atmosphere of the spots.</p>
<p class="text">“Prowl” features a bold and fearless creative talent strutting his stuff alongside a lion strolling across the hot African savannah with leisurely confidence and deadly purpose. As a herd of Wildebeests stampedes past, the young man taunts them with a “want some of this?” gesture. The spots end with the proclamation “It’s time to rule.” In “Feast,” another hungry young creative enthusiastically enjoys some Chinese takeout using chopsticks as he sits among a pride of lions devouring a zebra with claws and teeth furiously engaged.  The message: “Don’t settle for scraps.”</p>
<p class="text">Our team shot live action footage in HD on green screen at the Bridges studio with Bridges’ Patrick Lewtschanyn directing and Creative Lead Brian McCauley serving as visual effects supervisor. All live action footage was shot to match the timing, lighting and scene elements of existing wildlife footage. Our team then keyed selected shots and composited them into the existing footage using After Effects. Final composited shots were delivered to Bagby editor Dave Ayling for incorporation into the final edit which was synchronized with the original music score.</p>
<p class="text"><em>&#8220;Bagby, Bridges, metal music, animal parts and visual effects&#8230; I think I was born for this job,” said Bridges’ McCauley. “It&#8217;s always great to work with Bagby, so we we&#8217;re thrilled to be involved in such an important part of their Young Lions campaign.&#8221;</em></p>
<p class="text"><em>“It’s always fun when the audience is yourself,” said Ted Wahlberg, group creative director for Bagby. “With Young Lions we were talking to creatives, so we tried to do something more visceral. Working with Bridges was great because they had no qualms about ‘killing’ a zebra.”</em></p>
